Milan obtained a hard away point away to an inform Lazio. Milan especially looked tired in the second half when the strain of playing a games every three matches started to take it's toll. Nesta had to go off the pitch with cramp and Ambrosini was unjustly sent off in the dying minutes to add insult to injury. Nesta was unfortunately whistled off the pitch by his ex-fans !!!

Milan took the lead from a Maldini header from a Rivaldo free kick in the opening minutes. The team played well but had to suffer Lazio reprise in the second half. Lazio attacked from all sectors earning a hard fought point and equalising through Lopez. Milan looked very tired in the second hald and although Ancelotti made the necessary substitutions the team never took off again.

Maldini was happy with the point after the match and commented that Lazio were by far the best team Milan had played agianst this season and that he was happy with the point earned at the Olimpico. He also joked that he had beaten his previous season's goal scoring record, since he scored his secong goal of the season !!!

Milan played another good game against bogey team Perugia and in horrible climatic conditions. Ancelotti rested Gattuso, Seedorf and Rivaldo giving space in the team to Ambrosini, Tomason and Serginho. The turnover worked well and Milan are really performing as a team now.

Ancelotti again played Dida in goal with Nesta and Maldini in the central roles with Simic and Kaladze on their flanks. In midfield Pirlo was central in front of defence with Serginho on the left and Ambrosini to the right with Rui Costa just behind strikers Tomasson and Inzaghi. Tomasson played his customary role of creating space for Inzaghi moving well from midfield.

Milan dominated from the start and although the team suffered a bit midway through the first half the rossoneri took the lead through Maldini in the 40th minute. A Pirlo corner saw our captain head over the Perugia keeper into the corner of the net. During the half time break amonsoon-like rain went down and the pitch become more difficxult to play on. But Milan were determined to beat the Perugia bogus and Inzaghi found the ball at his feet in the 50th minute after a good Kaladze run on the left. SuperPippo had the easiest of tasks to score from a metre out. The third goal came from an individual Seedorf dribble which ended with a curle ball to the right of the Perugia keeper into the corner of the net.

Milan also had the luxury of missing a penalty when Tomasson was fouled in the box. Serginho took the kick but hit the outside of the post. milan had possession for over 30 minutes again and this shows the this highly technical team can hold on to the ball and create many scoring chances.

Milan played a good match at their debut for the 2002 Serie A at the Braglia stadium in Modena in front of a capacity crowd. It was Modena first game in the Serie A and that made things difficult for Milan.

Ancelotti fielded the following players; Dida in goal since Abbiati is not yet at 100%, in defence he played with Simic on the right and Kaladze on the left with Nesta and Maldini in the central roles. In midfield he fielded Seedorf, Gattuso, Pirlo in front of the defensive four and Rui Costa just behind the strikers Tomasson and Inzaghi. Tomasson had a free role in attack moving and creating space for Inzaghi.

Milan went out of the dressing room ready to attck but found Modena had other ideas with their all pitch pressing. Milan tried to calm down their opponents by keeping the ball and after a few occasions found the opening goal. Rui Costa, Tomasson and Inzaghi exchanged the ball between them with the ball finding the back of the net throught Inzaghi right foot from just inside the area. Modena had their chance but Dida was always there to neutralise.

With a 1-0 lead at half time everyone might have thought that Mila would defend, but Ancelotti had other ideas and Milan continued to dominate the match until Simic scored the second from a header from a Pirlo corner. Pirlo was having a superb game in front of the defence and was not the main assist man. It was time for both teams to make some substitions and Rivaldo made his Serie A debut displaying some great touches of class. Towards the end came Milan's third goal. Pirlo again found Inzaghi impeccably placed in the box and the latter controlled the ball well and scored, beating Ballotta a third time. Rivaldo then scored a superb goal with his backheel but this was disallowed for offside.

Final statistics showed that Milan had the ball for over 30 minutes of the match whilst Modena had it for less than 20 minutes.

In a friendly held today in aid of the tragic 8th October 2001 air collision at Milano's Linate airport, Milan beat Inter by a solitary second half goal from Jon Dahl Tomasson. Present on the stands for the match was Alessandro Nesta who got a standing ovation when he toured the stadium to salute his new fans.

Ancelotti fielded an interesting formation with helveg at left fullback with Serginho infront of him. On the right Contra with Brocchi and Dalla Bona and Ambrosini. Central defenders were Madini and Laursen. Up front young Boriello and Rivaldo having a free role just behind him.

Milan dominated from the whistle and created numerous scoring chances only to see them hit the bar twice. Once from a superb Ambrosini header and the other from a superby taken Rivaldo free kick. Milan had a lot of ball posession and movement was good throughout the field.

In the second half numerous substitions until Tomasson scored the winner. Seedorf was found on the left. He dribbled Cordoba and lobbed perfectly onto Tomasson's head who nodded home from two metres. Another few substiutions with Ba ending the match virtually in defense and with Aubameyang in front of him !!! Inter were rarely dangerous. Costacurta made a welcome return and his experience showed.
