31/5/2004 Milan take option on Fabiano

Milan have taken an option on Sao Paolo striker Luis Fabiano. The player, Kaka's best friend, has chosen Milan as his preferred destination after both Barcellona and Juventus made strong bids to sign the talented forward. The player will now stay another year with Sao Paolo and join Milan next season. In the meantime, Milan will opt to sign Lazio forward Corradi.

Milan lose to Kitchee

Milan lost theri opening match in the China tour by 2-1 against local club Kitchee. Milan fielded a strong team which however was saw the rossoneri take the lead through a Shevchenko header. Numerous substirution were made and towards the end Milan conceded two goals through Putiray.

30/5/2004 Milan in Hong Kong

Milan have arrived in Hong Kong to play two friendly matches. Obviosuly, the team is without certain key players who have ben called up for national squad duty. Milan have recruited a number of players to join them on the tour. These are Signori, Diana and Dalla Bona. Line up for the first match against Kitchee is: Abbiati; Diana, Costacurta, Maldini, Kaladze; Brocchi, Redondo, Ambrosini, Serginho; Shevchenko, Borriello.

Andrij Shevchenko has decided to finish his career with Milan. the Ukranian said in an interview that Milan is the top club and that playing for the rossoneri is the highest honour for any player. Shevchenko also spoke highly of Milan's recent signings Stam and Dhorasoo.

Other news

Ambrosini has decided to stay with the rossoneri after Milan took a decision, either Ambrosini or Davids. The management opted to keep Ambrosini.

Rumours are rife that Corradi will be joining Milan. Galliani stated in various interviews that he is the club's number one choice in attack. Corradi on the other hand, stated from Coverciano that his first club preference is Milan. In attack Boriello will be again loaned out to gain valuable experience.

Abbiati's position is more complicated. Galliani said that the chances of him staying with Milan are at 51%. The player clearly wants to play and with teams like Arsenal trying to lure him to London the player is having great difficulties taking a decision.

17/5/2004 Stam signs for Milan

Defender Jaap Stam has signed a two year deal with Milan. The 10.5 million Euro deal is payable in two annual instalments starting from next year.

In the meantime in an interview Vikash Dhorasoo has declared it as an honour to be playing alongside Paolo Maldini next season.

16/5/2004 Maldini to stay home

Maldini has reiterated that he will definitely not go to Portugal with the Italian national squad. The captain stated that Trapattoni is aware of his decision.

Milan honoured the celebrations at the San Siro for Scudetto number 17 with a display of attacking football relinquishing any defensive tactics. The order of the day was winning and that is what the boys did. From the word go Milan turned on their class and Abbiati was only beaten by two spectacular long range Matuzalem efforts. Jon Dahl Tomasson scored a brace of goals whilst Shevchenko scored his 24th goal of the season thus enabling to equal his own record at Milan and also winning the top scorer award.

Milan will have a new sponsor as from next season. The sponsor will be "Casino di Lugano". Talks have been in hand since 2003 and finally an agreement has ben reached.

Without any sort of motivation whatsoever, Milan entered the stadium with other things on their mind. It was clear from the outset that this was "that" kind of match. Ancelotti rested most players and inserted Simic and Kaladze on the flanks and Serginho, Brocchi, Ambrosini and Redondo in midfield. Milan conceded the first goal after only 8 mins from an incredible overhead kick by the talented Di Michele and then proceeded to give away a penalty on the 30 min mark.

The second half saw a slight improvement on Milan's part which was just enough for Andriy Shevchenko to score his 23rd goal of the season and his 90th Serie A goal, equalling the great Marco Van Basten.

The latest from Milano is that Maldini has extended his contract till 2006. The captain will therefore probably finish his career at Milan. Players coming in are Dhorasoo, Stam and most probably Zebina. Other rumours mention Luis Fabiano, Chevanton and Ze Maria.
