Milan saved
the match with the last header of the game when Shevchenko
rose above all to equalise a jinxed match. inzaghi missed
a sitter in the first half and Milan went under from a
perfect counter attack. Milan looking tired tried hard
to equalise and Chievo scored another to take a 2-0 lead
at half time. A superb 30 metre shot from Pirlo and Shevchenko's
header in the last second of the match gave Milan a merited
point. With Roma losing at home to Bologna, Milan maintain
a good lead over rivals Juventus.
It took Milan
nine minutes of goals amidst fifteen minutes of great
football to demolish Spaniards Deportivo La Coruna to
the tune of four goals to one. Deportivo took the lead
from a pandiani header and Milan found the going tough
to get back into the match. Kaka levelled the score after
Milan missed numerous chances from a beautiful shot from
just inside the area. Just after twenty one seconds into
the second half Shevchenko put Milan ahead after a glorious
move and Kaka added a third three minutes later. Pirlo
rounded the score with a perfect free kick five minutes
and that was that. milan controlled the match with some
difficulty but Dida was on hand to safeguard the goalpost
and maintain a good score for the return leg.
With
Kaka man of the match and company playing well enough
after some early scares, saw Milan open an eleven point
gap over rivals Juventus. The rossoneri were at their
best early in the second half and sealed the match with
another Tomasson goal and a Shevchenko goal to take a
3-0 lead. Ancelotti saved some key players and made three
substitutions. All three goals came with goals in fron
tof an empty net marking Milan's superiority in creating
scoring opportunities.

A
vastly superior Milan beat Juventus 3-1 at the Della Alpi
to open a seven point gap at the top against Roma and
a nie point gap against Juventus. Milan dominated most
of the match except for small parts in the first half
and after going 3-0 up. Shevchenko opened the score with
a powerful header with Seedorf scorching two long range
goals to seal the match. Inzaghi and Shevchenko missed
two absolute sitters which could have easily closed the
match up earlier. Man of the match was Pirlo who dominated
his area. A mentio must also be made to Costacurta who
played his 600 match with Milan substituting the injured
Nesta in the first half.
