A tired Milan could not hold on to a 1-0 lead from Inzaghi in the 29th minute of the first half. Milan played another good match until the innumerous substitions and movements on the pitch took their toll. The team ended the match with Aliyu as a right winger, Kaladze back in midfield, Javi Moreno as the sole striker and Brocchi battling it out in midfield with a tired Gattuso. Valencia equalised towards the end from a free header from De Lo Santos. In the 91st minute Van der Ende saw an inexistant penalty, when from a free kick situation Brocchi apeared to cover his face to avoid a shot and much to everyone's amazement awarded a penalty which Kily Gonzales scored. Milan had a good tournment although the team still lacks match fitness. This showed towards the end of the second half. Abbiati had a brilliant match as did Rui Costa.
