Milan maintained a five point lead at the top of the Seria A beating Lazio at the Olimpico by a solitary goal from Ambrosini. Ambro was making a return to the side after being sidelined with injury for the past few weeks. The goal came with only fifteen minutes left on the clock from an inche perfect Seedorf assist.

Milan had to fight hard to gather all three points today at the San Siro. The rossoneri created numerous scoring chances but somehow failed to take any of them until Ancelotti made two substitutions late in the match. Rui Costa came in for Seedorf and Inzaghi came in for Tomasson. Rui Costa scored the opened with a superbly taken free kick and Inzaghi procured the all important winning penalty which Pirlo scored. Perugia reacted after the goals and obtained a penalty when Pancaro fouled a Fusani in the area. Pancaro was also red carded for his effort.

A rare Abbiati error sent Milan to their first loss of the year 2004 when after only 42 seconds he tried to dribble past Fiore but lost the ball which ended into the net. Milan only recovered from this shock goal towards the end of the first half showing determined spirit. The second leg on this Coppa Italia semi-final will be played next wednesday. More importantly Inzaghi returned to the side scoring Milan's only goal and showing good form.

Milan opened a five point gap at the top of the Serie A with a great win at the difficult Bologna stadium. In form Bologna were coming from a consecuvite positive streak of fiv matches and gave Milan a hard time. However goals from Shevchenk after ninetenn minutes and a splendid lob from Tomasson at the end of the match sealed victory for Milan. Kaka was man of the match with inspirational runs and passes intermixed with delightful touches.
