Milan did not play
at all well and looked a tired side against a very well organised
Brugges. The team failed to take the chances it had and both
Inzaghi and Shevchenko loked off form. Seedorf is still looking
the shadow of his former self and Kaka could not do much to
inspire the forward line. The Brugge goal came from a counter
attack move which saw mendoza finalise well with a well taken
shot from Dida 's left which found the corner of the net.

Very drab
match with Milan' first and only shot at goal coming in the
82nd minute. Match was played in a constant rain and with
half the floodlights system not working and therefore in semi-darkness.

Milan
defeated Ajax again at the San Siro with the solitary goal
from Pippo Inzaghi in the 67th minute. hero of the match however
was Dida who made a super save in the 92nd minute from a van
der Vaart close range shot from about 2 metres after Milan
were reduced to 10 men with the expulsion of Gattuso.
The match
was a balanced one with Milan showing the best efforts especially
through Kaka, who was however, only brilliant in the first
half. His touches were a delight to watch and the crowd is
already rooting for this great upcoming star. Milan has several
chances through Shevchenko and Inzaghi but failed to materialise
for some reason or another. Costacurta went off injured in
the first half to be replaced by Laursen who had a good match
marking the dangerous Ibrahimovic.
Second
half saw more of the same with Milan keeping possesion and
finding Sheva and inzaghi up front. Milan took the lead when
Inzaghi controlled the ball on the right, turned his defender
and moved to the left finding Shevchenko in the box. The Ukranian
in turn turned his defender and immediately shot. Lobont made
the reflex save only to find Inzaghi pouncing on the rebounding
and slotting home into the empty net.
Ancelotti
then made a few moves moving Ambrosini for Inzaghi in order
to defend the result. Milan could easily have closed the match
but Shevchenko saw Lobont making some good saves. Kaka then
hit the post after beating his marker but the nailbiting affair
was again left to the dying minutes. gattuso was sent off
for a reaction on Ibrahimovic. Ajax saw their chance to attack
and moved menacingly forward with all their men. From one
of these attacks the ball fell to van der Vaart whose immediate
shot saw Dida make a superb save which will not be easily
forgotten at the San Siro.
