Massimo Ambrosini was selected by Milan youth scouts when he was playing for Cesena in the Italian Serie B. His incredible talents were being noted down by many a Serie A club but fortunately, Milan got there first. When he first appeared at Milanello in 1995, Ruben Buriani, who was in charge of Milan’s youth sector, noticed many a similarity with his unforgettable style of play. A hard working midfield machine Massimo is now maturing well with the Milan A team. He recalls that the toughest period with Milan was when he arrived. He was only 18 years of age then and was still unsure whether he could make it in football. It was also the first time he was leaving home and felt homesick. At Cesena he managed to obtain his school diploma and gain a place in Cesena’s first team, no mean accomplishment. His debut for Milan was against Cagliari on the 5th of November 1995. A lot of players see in him an Ancelotti clone, and the way he does about his business in midfield reminds many of the great Carlo. His other passion is watching American football.
